We spent Thanksgiving with my family in Pender and welcomed D-man's 1st cousin into the world. AKG weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces and was 20 inches long. We felt so lucky to be home so close to her birth. We just spent time with family, hanging out, and watching CU beat Nebraska (again).

Estes Park - Marshall's Birthday

We spent Marshall's birthday at a condo in Estes Park. We relaxed, watched football, had a romantic dinner, and bopped around Estes Park. D-man enjoyed chocolate chip cookies and eating out. Our condo had a great view of Rocky Mountain National Park. What a great weekend!

D-man dressed up like a dragon for his 1st Halloween. His name means dragon in several languages so we thought it appropriate he be a dragon. We went to Marshall's work for a party there on Friday afternoon so proud papa could show off his son. Marshall and D-man also braved some snowy weather on Halloween to visit a few of the neighbors.

D-man and I made a trip back in October for Jaima's baby shower. It was a really nice time and Jaima is going to be a great mom.

Fall 2004

Well, the last 3 months have been tough for us. D-man has been to the dr. way too many times. We are hoping that we are on the mend. After a cold, cough, 2 ear infections, and vomiting for about 6 weeks, we hope to be done. Of course, flu season is right around the corner. But, the ear infections are gone and with it - the runny nose. yeah!! I think the last 3 months of illness have been tougher on me than D-man. I really hope that he is on the mend and on his way to recovery.

He did start officially crawling this weekend and he is also starting to pull himself up on the coffee table, etc. He is so much fun these days and even though he hasn't felt the best, he is still a smiling little boy. Claudia and Bob were here for a week and Claudia watched D-man for 4 days while he was not feeling well. It was such a blessing to have them here to watch him while he was under the weather.

We had our grass installed today. We are so happy to have the rocks removed - I am so excited to have a yard we can enjoy. Now - on to the family room. One step at a time. We'll get there slowly, but surely.....

Football is in the air!

Well, the college football season officially started last night. We didn't watch the game, but were excited about the upcoming fall. Neither the Buffs or the Huskers (or the Cougars for that matter) are really supposed to be that great. Nevertheless, we'll cheer them on. D-man sported is Husker outfit to daycare today. The nurse at the dr's office was from Norfolk so she loved his outfit (of course!). Picture to be posted soon. We've got a different Husker outfit for the cooler weather tomorrow.

Both Marshall and I are in fantasy football leagues (for the pros). Will be fun to see how I do in my first year in a league. Will also be nice to have a focus other than work or D-man - everyone needs a break! ;) We're also in a college pick 'em pool where I brought up the rear last year. I'm hoping for an improvement this year. So, as fall arrives, there is only one thing to say "GO BIG RED". There is no place like Nebraska.

Summer 2004

Well, it's Friday afternoon on August 20th. Summer is quickly coming to an end which is hard to believe. We've been traveling quite a bit. Luckily, D-man has been such a great traveler. He's been to the Peavy cabin in Idaho two times, Nebraska two times, Grand Lake two times, and also to Crested Butte! Having a baby hasn't stopped our travel bug obviously! The fall seems to be just as busy, but hopefully, we'll be around to make a few improvements to the house and the yard - they desperately need it.

D-man is now eating "big boy" food and we're trying to give him a variety of different tastes. He loves avocados and sweet potatoes. Prunes and peas are not as popular. But, he dutifully tries everything and is very easy going with the entire thing. And, he is just too darn cute in his high chair.

Well, time to pick up the little guy. We'll be hanging out tonight when Marshall goes to play poker. We might be going to a drive in movie tomorrow night - dates with the little ones are definitely different. :)

Grand Lake 2004

Well, this is my first entry in the Peavy blog. Marshall and I are watching the Olympics after spending a weekend at Grand Lake with mom and dad (Nana and Pop to the D-man). We enjoyed good food, walking around Grand Lake, pontooning on Grand Lake, enjoying Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park, and just enjoying a trip in the motor home - what memories! D-man was a very good boy and put up with the life jacket for Nana's boat ride. The weather was great and Saturday night we enjoyed brats on the grill and a nice campfire and dad and Marshall enjoyed stoking with anything they could find. It's hard to come back to the "real world", but we're thankful that we had such a great trip.
