Peavy Tour

Tanner and I explored Corvallis today. We got up to catch the end of breakfast by 10:00 and then headed out to disc golf at Willamette Park. It was a very pretty course and a crisp, sunny day. We then stopped downtown for a coffee/Italian soda and sweet treat and walked around a bit along the river. Next, we headed north to the Peavy Arboretum off Peavy Arboretum Road. Tanner thought it was cool to see his name so many times and knowing that it was his relative. 

We then grabbed pizza downtown at American Dream Pizza and enjoyed a gorgeous meal on the rooftop patio before a little break at the hotel. We then went to campus and walked around. We checked out Peavy hall, Peavy fields and hit the central quad. We scoped out the dorm areas/dining halls, rec center, student union, library and the engineering buildings. We snapped a pic by the football stadium and then picked up his lost disc right near the stadium from a nice person that found it! 

We're back at the hotel and headed to sushi soon. A great day - treasure these times together. 

Twinsies

Tanner and I made a stop in Lake Oswego to see my old boss on Saturday night on our way down to Corvallis.

I absolutely adore Emily and we have kept up a monthly catch up since she left Snapdocs. There are some uncanny similarities between us  - we share the same birthday (10 years a part), she has two boys that are basically 10 years younger than my boys, she has two sisters and she is a Coug fan! 

We chatted last week and o let her know that I was coming to Corvallis and she invited us for dinner. Even thought we were delayed a couple hours, we still stopped by for dinner, to catch up and watch the Cougs. Tanner was a great sport and allowed us to catch up for a couple hours. 

We found out during the night that her husband's cousin was Marshall's high school girlfriend. What a small, small world - and all because we randomly met at Snapdocs! 

Leaf Peeping Date

Marshall and I headed out around 4:00 to do some leaf peeping (a first for Marshall!) along the Peak to Peak Highway. We drove up to Lyons, headed through St. Vrain Canyon and then headed toward Nederland. We stopped along the way and took some photos and then stopped at Knotted Root for a beer and pretzels before heading back down Coal Creek Canyon toward home. 

We met friends at Murphy's and had a nice table outside. We are so fortunate to have such beauty in our backyard. What a great date! 

 

Christening

We celebrated the (mostly) done construction with the Wrights on Friday night when the Huskers played. While the outcome was not what I wanted, it was fun to host in our "new" space. 

Water Ski Chronicles

 The Miami water skiing team continues their their winning season placing first in the Great Lake conference tourney. Drake had a PB on jump with a 84 foot jump! Thankful to be able to follow along via Instagram and the website (kind of). 

Before and After

We're still putting on the finishing touches and have a few punch list items left with the contractor, but the pod is gone, the furniture is in and we're super happy with the final product. So glad that we finally pulled the trigger and got the work done. Here's to many memories in our new space.

Ultimate View

 We traveled to North High School in Denver for Tanner's first Ultimate Game of the season. The team won 10-5 and it was a gorgeous evening. We had a view of downtown, caught up with Nadja during the game and ran into a friend from 20+ years ago (her daughter plays for North). 

Tanner went to dinner with the team and we walked to a local Mexican place for diner with Nadja in a patio. So happy to cheer on Tanner and his team.
