Carpe Diem!

Every night, we have been doing cherries and pits at dinner. Tonight, my pit was that I'm already getting sad about our pending departure. Marshall responded with, "Carpe Diem!"  Which I think we did a pretty good job of today.

As D-man said at the fire tonight, "there is no place I'd rather be right now." We couldn't agree more. Carpe Diem!

Family Lake Outing

While Bob and Claudia took Matt to the airport, we took the opportunity to head out on the boat to lunch and ice cream. We admired the big house and the boys liked checking out the very nice boats at the marina. We got a seat on the patio right by the water and we're happy to have arrived when we did as it got very busy. The huckleberry vodka lemonade and beer tastes just a little bit sweeter by the water. 

After lunch, we headed to Harrison for ice cream. We arrived back at the same time as Bob and Claudia. What a perfect little outing!

A Boy, a Book, and a Boat

All afternoon. Finished the book. Loved that D-man was excited to bring some books to the cabin - "I love reading on the boat." DKP age 12. 

Wonderfulness

For all the wonderfulness the cabin is, the best thing is having a place the entire Peavy family can get together for a few days and make memories together. What a special spot for all. 

Doing it All

On the drive to the cabin on Saturday night/Sunday Morning T-man talked about what he wanted to do at the cabin the first day. His quote, "I want to do it all." While he didn't quote accomplish that goal, we had a great first day at the cabin.

Passing Time at DIA

We took the fancy new commuter rail line to DIA, checked our bags, and found out our flight was delayed 1.5 hours. So we walked two concourses, got ice cream, played games, and we wait..... 

Thankful for good travelers and free drink coupons once we get on the flight.

Camp Life

The boys are on their way home. Enough time for D-man to shower (he's had two showers in the last week), pack, and do a load of laundry before we head to the cabin. Can't wait to have him back and hear about his adventures!

Sweet Spot

Tonight, the Sweet Spot restaurant at the golf course had free live music. T-man hung out at the neighbor's with friends and six of us walked over for dinner and drinks. It was a nice, casual evening that wrapped up with a nightcap in the neighbor's backyard. A nice way to kick off our vacation. 

Lego Camp

T-man is really enjoying Lego camp this week. He has some friends from the camp he was at last week which was a nice bonus. Also nice that this camp is close to our house and we only have one drop off/pick up location with D-man out of town. T-man even got 4 holes of golf in on Monday afternoon when I picked him up. Goodness all the way around!

Movie Night

Special night out for dinner and a movie with T-man. We enjoyed Mexican right down the street and then T-man enjoyed a milkshake during "Secret Life of Pets." 

The best part for me? When I was asking what he wanted to do tonight, he said see a movie. When we talked about which movie, he hesitated about going because he said wanted D-man to be able to see it. So thoughtful. (His brother is scheduled to see it during teen camp so we are good there).

Week 5 Away

D-man is off to sleep away camp today for Trekker's base camp at Camp Santa Maria. He went to his camp before, but this year they will be sleeping in tents and cooking their own foods and doing much more "outdoors-y stuff." Will be quiet around here, but know he and his buddy will have a good time. This marks D'man's 5th week away from home (with one more to come)....,.
