Steps and Flikers

So far, I've been able to get in my 10,000 steps every day. Jaima's daughter has started checking in on my step progress regularly. Today, she and T-man helped me get some steps in on a trip around town, to the library, and the park. We noticed they had on outfits that matched their flikers today - too cute!

Nana Camp

The boys are enjoying Nana camp and time with cousins. Fireworks and the pool have been a big hit.

Fireworks (and All Things Nebraska)

Today was a day that embodied all we love about Nebraska - buying (and lighting) fireworks, hanging with family, softball in the yard with homemade bases, good food, time at the firepit, and sleeping in the motor home. On the drive, T-man asked me several times, "is there really no place like Nebraska? I don't think so T-man.

It's About the Journey

A quick restroom break gave us a chance to learn about the Oregon Trail. We talked about how hard and long the journey was and how there was nothing here. D-man said, "I can't even picture it." But, we tried.

Pre-Pender Pool Parties

We took advantage of our last night before our summer travels to hang out at the pool with several couples and order pizza. One of the dad's hosts a mini soccer camp on Thursday afternoons and then they end up at the pool afterwards. Good way to wrap up a wonderful June in Louisville.

And, of course, we had to enjoy the hotel  pool on the way to Pender.

Dynamic Dad's Day

It was a busy, hot day to celebrate our #1 Dad. We had breakfast in bed, we hiked, we ate lunch in downtown Denver, we saw an amazing Cirque show, and we celebrated an amazing man in our lives. It was a hot day with a good amount of walking and the best gift the boys gave Marshall was their good behavior.

It was a so fun to watch the boys' faces as they took in their first Cirque du Soleil show. So glad it was with their wonderful Dad.

A NEW CAR

After 14 fine years, the Jeep is no longer. We're happy to welcome a Toyota 4Runner to the Peavy family!  I think we can both say that buying a car is something we are ok with only doing every 10 or so years.....

The Best Laid Plans.......

Sometimes change.....and can be wonderful! We had plans to go to the Louisville Street Faire on Friday night without kids. But, D-man ended up at the free movie at the library with a friend which meant a last minute happy hour downtown with his friend's parents!  We got T-man a sitter and we enjoyed margs and chilling on the patio at la Rev. When we picked up D-man at the library, we saw other friends at the Street Faire. We chatted a bit and then headed to the pool and basketball court for more fun with friends.

It ended up being a perfect summer night - boys with friends, us with friends, enjoying our little town, running into other people we know. A great summer night.

Lego Camp

I'm still a little surprised that T-man still enjoys Lego camp, but he is still enjoying year 3 of this camp. I feel very fortunate that we have so many great camps to choose from and that the boys have great summer experiences.

A New Tree!

I forgot it was already Tuesday because I took yesterday off so I was surprised when I pulled up and saw our new tree. Even after having the stump ground out, they salvaged some flowers and the decorative stone - yippee!!

Wish You Were Here

On my walk tonight, I heard the song with the words "wish you were here." And after having a really nice weekend with the Marshall family visiting us, I couldn't help but think I wish they were all still here.

Overall, the weather cooperates and the Peavy boys were great with the Marshall boys. It was fun to show them a bit of "our world" here in Colorado during the summer. We enjoyed several activities, including a morning in downtown Louisville followed by lunch, adult-only happy hour, hiking, pool time, and just being together.

We hope we can host them again soon!

Roughing It

I drove up on Friday afternoon to pick D-man up from sleep away camp. It was a gorgeous day, but the camp got quite a bit of rain. D-man doesn't mind as he likes that this camp is more "roughing it."

His favorite part of camp was rafting, the food was better this year, and he's already planning on how to get his cousins out here next year for this camp.

He was extremely exhausted after getting up at 5:00 to see the sunrise (which he didn't see) but he had a great time!

Only (awesome) Child for a Week

It has been a great week at home with only T-man. Things have been just a little less hectic, he's been able to sleep in, and we've had some great 1:1 time. He and Marshall hit range balls on Monday night, we had family movie night on Wednesday night, and we enjoyed sushi (his choice) tonight. It was a great week  - Love, love, love this kid.

20,000 Steps

I got a Fitbit for my birthday. I'm proud to say I've made my goal of 10,000 steps everyday! Today D-man went on my walk with me - he was a great coach (and it was so much more fun with him along)!

Our first walk

After dinner, Marshall, D-man, and I went for a stroll. The amazing sky had me running to try and grab a picture. And getting in additional steps had us running into neighbors which ended in an impromptu cocktail hour at 9:30 (apparently taking care of yourself does lead to good things).

The amazing sky that doesn't come across in pictures

Long's Peak

When we wrapped for the night, I showed D-man that I had broken my step record. He had already been talking about getting to 20K so this just made him want it more. I closed his bedroom door to him chanting "go walking, go walking." So, around the block I went.
