Nuggets Win!

A snowy Monday meant middle school track and high school lacrosse were canceled. And with a spirit night at the local pizza place, there was no cooking either. Wow - a complete night of freedom! With that opportunity, D-man found $15 tickets to the Nuggets playoff game and found a friend to go with him. They road the bus to Union Station, hiked to the Pepsi Center and watched the Nuggets win! What a cool experience (and definitely a life experience riding the public bus back with a guy who just got out of prison). 

Skiing on Sunday

You can definitely say you live in Colorado when you golf on Friday and ski on Sunday. After T-man’s soccer game, we headed out on a 24-hour family vacation. We rented a place in the Winter Park village and hit the hot tub right when we got there for happy hour (we arrived safely with D-man at the wheel). 

We then went into town for dinner and wrapped up at the hotel room watching the Nuggets win and all taking a turn at T-man’s rhythm assignment for band - quite entertaining! The entire evening made me so happy. 

We cooked breakfast in the hotel room kitchenette on Sunday morning and then hit the slopes. It was definitely spring skiing conditions, but we had sunny skies right until we headed in for lunch. They even closed the lifts for lightening, but we were able to get back on them (before they closed again) so we could ski right down to the car. 

One final stop in Empire wrapped up a really fun little get away.

Golf on Friday

Couple’s Golf League kicked off this weekend and due to a canceled lacrosse game, we were able to sign up last minute. We tied for 2nd (thanks to Paul) and given the windy conditions, we were pretty happy with our score. Always a fun night and Marshall’s margaritas were particularly yummy. Definitely starting to feeling like summer. 

Day of Decadence

A rainy Monday made for the perfect day for our “Day of Decadence” at the St. Julian Spa in Boulder. We had a scrub, massage, facial, pedicure and blowout. We also enjoyed champagne, a charcuterie plate and some the spa’s amenitities. We wrapped up with happy hour at the bar and then meeting the guys for a bit before Marshall and I headed out for a lacrosse game. What an amazing day with an amazing friend. Definitely good for the soul. Thank you Marshall and Paul!!

Easter Traditions

We don’t have many Easter traditions, but those we have, we carry on. 

1. Dye Easter eggs (usually Saturday night)
2. Have an Easter egg hunt 
3. Easter baskets which contain a movie and pjs 

The rest of the day is pretty much like any other day. We all did things outside, the boys watched their movies, and we had a nice dinner (we made homemade pasta and sauce which was an adventure in family dynamics for sure).

“C” Team Parents

Today D-man’s Lacrosse team had a tournament way down south. The team had three games at a beautiful venue. Another Mom and I managed the set up for the team and Marshall took pictures for the banquet. The games didn’t turn out like the team had hoped, but it is always fun to be part of a team and outside on a beutif day. All the kids (after a huddle from coach) came by to say thank you. And during our stop at Cold Stone, D-man was very appreciative of the set up).

Sammy and the Oles

In NYC this week, I wrapped up my nine month Leadership Journey at Return Path. It was a great week with a group of folks (we called ourselves Sammy and the Oles from some work we did in our first meeting) that I have gotten to know well, appreciate and learn from. We had some lovely dinners, I initiated cherries and pits at one dinner and we produced two off, off, off Broadway plays about our Return Path journey at the Producer’s Club. So much fun to be creative and work with others in another way.

It will be an experience that I won’t soon forget. I am thankful to Return Path for this experience.

Louisville Dynamic Duo!

The BCSC soccer team took on their cross town rivals and won 4-0 with two goals by the boys from Louisville. T-man also had an assist. Yay!! 

Mohi Market

This afternoon we headed to Mohi Market to support the Monarch School of Business and the DECA organization. There were several “businesses” created by the students as well as local businesses represented as well as some games to be played. D-man’s group was “Nation Bakes” and they sold German Pancakes and churros. What a great experience for the kids. And how great that it was a gorgeous day and I could just walk to the event after working from home. 

They bought way too many churros, but D-man took his leftovers and shared with the lacrosse team - nicely done son.

Notre Dame

(Delayed post).....

I’m in a cab on the way into Manhattan. I didn’t hear much on the burning of Notre Dame while in the airport (and obviously not on the flight either). It is so tragic. I’m fortunate to have been twice and the last one within the last year. And also to have been able to experience it with my sister 20+ years ago. 

This was our first night in Paris and we weren’t going to stay in the hotel so we hoofed from our flat to Notre Dane. I love this picture even more now. 

Socializing

It was a weekend of various socializing activities for the entire family. The boys with friends. Us with couples. Family activities. Me with NWU girlfriends. So thankful for friends old and new.
