Gotta Start

Taking the first step is often the hardest. Due to conflicting schedules, Tanner and I have not been able to volunteer this summer at all. We finally got in a volunteering session tonight after work. This activity helps the Special Olympics athletes with tennis practice. Tanner is so great with the athletes and it is a fun activity for us to do together. Here’s to getting more hours in now that we have finally started. 

Lake Peeps

I did not do a very good job of getting pictures this year, but as usual, we made a lot of great memories and enjoyed our time at the cabin. 

Water Sports

We were much more diligent about getting out on the lake for water sports this year. Drake skied and wake boarded. Tanner and Drakr tubed. Uncle Matt got in on the tubing fun with the boys and also did a bit of skiing. I had a failed attempt at water skiing one day, but was successful on day two thanks to patient folks and a cheering section. Claire got in on the tubing action when she was here as well. 

It was fun to see the pure joy on their faces while on the tube and see Drake working hard at the water skiing.

The boys and I ventured out on the bikes thanks to the Marshall Peavy shuttle service. We decided to bike from Plummer to Harrison as the drive is not as long and we had been doing a decent amount of driving on this trip. I hung back during the downhill while the boys messed around during the ride together. 

We stopped at the state park on Chacolet Lake to eat our Zip’s burgers and then continued along the rest of the path to Harrison. We stopped for ice cream, bought some cinnamon rolls and lottery ticket before we hopped in the boat home. 

At dinner, we all stated the bike ride was our cherry for the day. Drake asked whose idea the bikes were and  pretty sure that we can thank Bob for the bikes.
