After their arrival on Thursday, we attended T-man’s brass ensemble concert. Mom and Dad went to lunch and Target on Friday afternoon before we all headed to Thornton for D-man’s basketball game. If there wasn’t a basketball game, D-man would have been home sick on his 16th birthday,m. But, he made it through and shared some cupcakes with his teammates to celebrate.
On Saturday, we attended two futsal games and tried to spend a bit of time outside, but it was pretty windy. We had flank steak and played cards on Saturday. We played Michigan Rummy which brought back memories of playing cards with my Nana. We also had cake to celebrate D-man’s 16th birthday and successfully passing his driver’s test!
Sunday was a gorgeous day with 75 degree weather! D-man volunteered at Harper Lake and T-man testes out his remote control boat before we all headed to Sweet Cow for ice cream. We chilled out here during the Super Bowl and cheered KC on to victory.
The work week brought cold weather and cancellation of after school activities on Monday. This allowed us to head to the Melting Pot a bit earlier for the birthday dinner. It was a nice time and always a fun experience.
The boys had a late start on Tuesday and Marshall and I both worked from home. It was a bustling house for sure! Mom and Dad saw an afternoon movie and we cheered D-man’s team on to victory before coming home to play cards again.
It’s always great to be able to share our lives with our extended family and I’m so glad they got to take in so many activities while they were here. What a great trip!
