"Starfish" of the Show

Tonight was the 3rd grade performance of "A Musical Ocean Mystery." T-man and I had a good time making his costume last night and he was the only starfish in the show. 

He busted out the starfish pose in preparation for his speaking part and got a good response. We celebrated his great performance with a trip to Sweet Cow.

G&G PV Visit

We just spent a great week with Bob and Claudia here in Louisville. While the weather didn't cooperate for the boys' sporting events, it did mean a more relaxing weekend. The boys didn't have school on Friday or Monday so we're able to hang out at home and hit the driving range with Claudia on Friday before the snow rolled in, hang with friends, play games and make cookies, and see "The Jungle Book" at Cinnebarre on Monday with Claudia. 

We had good meals, watched the Warriors win, and just enjoyed being together. It's a long time to be gone from home so we are so thankful Bob and Claudia made the trek and that we had this special time together.

Ralphie's Hero

T-man brought home his "Ralphie's Hero" award this weeks for being the most improved reader in his class. He came home and showed Granddad right away. So happy to have him here to share that moment with T-man. So proud of all his hard work! 

April Snow Brings.......

Finally got my picture wall updated. I guess this is one benefit to a snow day in April. Nine years of family pictures in the front of the boat. Good memories over the years.

What a wonderful weekend meeting my new niece Kate and spending time with the entire Marshall family. There was lots of baby time, sister time, and early mornings. I was able to stay with Kate a couple of times (which was awesome!) to give Jacki and Sean some time with he boys. Jacki and I were able to take the kids to the zoo and also enjoyed a girls day today with some shopping and lunch. I also treated the boys to ice cream after school today. 

It was special weekend and I can't wait to see them all again in July.

Easter Baskets

D-man was upset that we didn't get to hunt for eggs and do our Easter traditions. The Easter bunny did happen to visit our house and being Easter baskets with candy, pajamas, and a movie so all was not lost. 

LAX Begins

Another gorgeous spring day for the start of lacrosse season. At the last minute, this game got moved from Saturday to Sunday which meant canceling our planned ski outing. But, the team ended up victorious and we ended up with 3 families at a brewery in downtown Golden after the game. A nice way to wrap up the start to our spring sport season.

Boulder Outings

Even though Boulder is only 15 minutes away, we rarely go out in Boulder. This weekend, we went twice! After a parent meeting at D-man lacrosse practice in Boulder, we ended up meeting Marshall's coworker and his wife for drinks and dinner at Bru, a pub and brewery. We had a nice time and didn't feel too old when they carded our companions and not us.   

On Saturday night, we headed into Boulder ago again, but this time to an escape room and then hit a (different) brewery for dinner. While we were not successful with our escape, it was a fun outing with some couples we don't hang out with much.

XSpring has arrived in Colorado and it was beautiful day for The Gunner's first soccer game of the season. It was a great game and T-man played attack and defense. The only goal scored by the other team was due to T-man thing the shoe of his teammate.

Cake by the Ocean

On Thursday, we had our first of three days on the boat we rented. While each day was a bit different, we basically enjoyed time exploring other beaches,  chilling on sand bars (where knee deep water goes forever), being on the water, and time at the "chat n chill" island bar with the sting rays. 

The evenings were all spent with meals at at home (one of which included enjoying "cake by the ocean" thanks to the boxes cake mix I brought from home). The last meal of the trip we had a Chef cook dinner for Rachel's birthday which was very fun! It was nice to be at the house in the evenings relaxing after a long day on the water.

Little Exuma

It's hard to summarize our amazing time in Little Exuma, Bahamas. The house, our (what ended up being a private) beach, our traveling companions, and great weather except for one very windy day (and that provided opportunities for boogie boarding and body surfing) - all made for a great trip. It's also the little things - like the boys looking for the landmarks of the drive, making up songs,  and Marshall learning to drive on the "wrong" side of the road. 

Because I want to have it documented, here's a quick synopsis of the first part of our trip - the "land portion." 

Sunday - arrived at Papaya House around 3:30. We enjoyed beach time and cooked burgers.

Monday - gorgeous day hanging at the house and the beach. There was snorkeling, kayaking, digging in the sand, and relaxing with the view of the teal blue ocean. 

Tuesday - WINDY! We hiked down from our house along the coast, we watched Pirates of the Caribbean which was filmed just down the road from our rental, and played lots of rummy cube. We ventured to the other side of the island for dinner to get out of the wind which was a nice outing with great food.

Wednesday - excursion day. Pig beachcomber, starfish hunting, beautiful vistas of the Atlantic, and visiting endangered iguanas. We ate at Shirley's which is in "the fish fry" (shacks similar to food trucks) just outside of the Georgetown at the recommendation the owners of the house we rented.
