RIP RP

Today I said goodbye (again) to Return Path. It was much harder this time around and even though I have been through these before, it doesn’t make it easier. In addition, the leadership team I was on for the last couple of years has been amazing. I am truly thankful for all that RP gave me over the last 9 years. Here are a few last pics to wrap up this journey.

Where the Green Grass Grows

On my walk tonight, “Where the Green Grass Grows” came on my pandora station. It always reminds me of Pender and tonight a little bit of Louisville with all the rain we have gotten this spring. 

We had just gotten done with dinner on the back patio and hearing about the boys’ day. Then D-man decided he wanted to make his day completely full and asked T-man to go to the pool and off they went! 

T-man scootered over to tutoring in the morning and over to a friend’s in the afternoon. D-man biked to the orthodontist, hit golf balls, biked to basketball camp, and then biked to open gym at the high school for basketball. 

And here I sit at the pool - thankful they can get around town without me around and have such a great day. They even got all their chores done. That, coupled with a nice weekend with a friend happy hour for my birthday on Friday, last minute golf and dinner with another  couple on Saturday and brunch and time at the pool with Nadja on Sunday, much to be thankful for.

Back on the Court

This weekend, D-man was back on the basketball court with his Monarch friends. He commented that is had been 1.5 years since he had a basketball game. Very proud of him for not giving up. 

This is the first of four basketball camps this June and D-man is having a great time. This camp was at CU so nice and close for the games. It was nice that Nana and Pop could be here for the Thursday games. We also were able to have a nice dinner out between games for my birthday that night.

Staycation

While we were in Vegas and D-man at Universal Studios, T-man stayed at the Wrights for a staycation. On Saturday they went to Mile High Adventures and on Sunday, they hit the Boulder Creekfest. A great way to kick off summer! 

Vegas Baby!

What a great long weekend in Vegas with the Wrights. Suspension from reality was just what the doctor ordered. We traveled in style thanks to Alana and her United club perks and priority status. We stayed at the MGM Signature property which allowed us access to the MGM pool and also to have a kitchen, sitting area, etc. Marshall had the brilliant idea to have groceries delivered so we had food without having to go out and find it.

We spent time at the pool at each day, walked the strip, had some amazing cocktails, did some gambling and took in a show. I believe we all came out on top with our gambling winnings (which were quickly spent on dinners and cocktails, but so worth it). On Monday night, Marshall rented a limo to drive the strip and take us to my birthday dinner up at the Venetian - definitely a highlight of the trip.  A great way to kick off my 47th year and the summer.

Time at work celebrating Return Path for happy hour and dinner and then home for cake made by D-man, time with family, and some cards. Much to be thankful for. 

Universal Studios

D-man kicked off spring break early on Friday with a trip to Orlando Studios with his friend John. They arrived Friday afternoon and were in the park by 3:15. Undortuneay, his friend got a fever and headed home early on the last day. His friend’s Dad spent the day with D-man on Monday before coming home. What a great way to kick off summer!
