Cordoba

Forgot to include pics of our day trip to Córdoba. We stopped at a restored castle, had lunch and then hit the mosque/cathedral which was unique and beautiful. It was a church originally and then had a mosque built on top of it and then when the Moors were kicked out, the Catholics out a cathedral in the middle of the mosque. Fascinating!

Trip Itinerary - Part 2

• Go to the Mercado with D-man and Michelle heading to beach and fútbol. Boca de leon again. 
• Go north to castle and Córdoba to tour the mosque/cathedral on Friday. Say goodbye to the Lebeavys. Drive around for 2 hours for parking spot. Boca de leon again. Yummy tortilla. 
• Saturday breakfast of tostada and cafe con leche in the sun. Shopping in Triana for knife, tiles, and items from the art fair. Lazy afternoon on the rooftop. Downtown for the Christmas lights and tapas. Very busy and festive. Walked to Peruvian restaurant for dinner. 
• Breakfast at Matthew and Riina’s and off the London vía Jerez and Madrid. Lucky to make the connection.

Trip Itinerary - Part 1

The run down of our trip (which of course goes way too quickly)....... 

• Arrive Sunday to Jerez and get a ride to Sevilla from Matthew. Enjoy a delicious fish dinner with everyone 
• Sleep in on Monday until 2:00 and get lunch at Blanco Paloma. Walk around the Christmas market and do happy hour at barranco. Have a roasted chicken dinner at Matthew and Riina’s. 
• Sleep in late again and go to see the birds and go for a hike in the forest. There were no birds. Have dinner at 9:00 at Golodrinas followed by drinks at Boca del Leon 
• Enjoy pastries from the bakery and go to the Italica Roman ruins outside of town. Grab food at the food court and go to the science museum. Meet up with everyone for drinks with friends of Matt and Riina followed by dinner.

Thanksgiving in Sevilla

No turkey. No football victories. I’m beginning to sense a theme for Thanksgiving. And still much to be thankful for again this year. Thanksgiving Day was celebrated at the beach, followed by showers and spaghetti dinner. The Louisville Peavys headed to the Sevilla FC match and others enjoyed a flamenco show. Seems like a pretty Sevillano Thanksgiving to me. 

Interesting things about the fútbol match: 

• Most people buy food from vendors and bring it into the stadium 
• We brought water in, but had to remove the caps 
• Hardly anyone had beers during the match, but there was lots of smoking during the game
• The concourses were empty 
• Most people ate their dinner during the half - it was a like a picnic 
• The visitor section was fenced off
