A First on the 4th

While Marshall has been in Louisville in the past for 4th of July, the boys and I have not. 

We departed Pender at 8:03 and got home around 3:15.  D-man was immediately off with friends and T-man and I chilled her for a bit before heading to a neighbor’s house up the street. After food, the kids took off to meet up with friends down at the park adjacent to the golf course where the fireworks are. 

The adults enjoyed staying dry under the covered deck and avoiding the crowds. I’m glad the boys had a ton of friends with their friends.

4th of July Traditions

It was a casual day to celebrate the 4th of July (a day early). We started the day with brunch and playing some cards. Kamjam filled many hours in the afternoon and evening. I can’t believe we didn’t get it out early, but it was a great last day activity. 

The boys cooled off at the Pender Pool before our chicken dinner cooked on the Green Egg. After more Kanjam, we enjoyed limeaid pie that Anastin and I made. 

We had a beautiful evening for the fireworks celebration. Star Spangled Banner. Neighbors over. Fireworks. Traditions.

Ponca State Park

Summer Fridays at Snapdocs meant that I was able to go on the outing to Ponca State Park with all the Geiserts and Mom and Dad. It’s hard to believe that for all our trips to Pender, we have not been to this park. In order to make it in time for the shooting range, we had to get out the doors by 9:00. 

We started at the shooting range which was fun and we have some ideas for creating our own range at the cabin now. We then hit the fishing pond and G-man came back the winner. 

We are our picnic lunch in the picnic shelter before some took off and others went to carve soap. We cooked done at the aquatics center and then hit the old fashioned sofa fountain at the pharmacy in Ponca. 

It was a really fun day and the boys are already talking about going back next year. 

We wrapped up the evening with take out from Rosey’s and s’mores by the fire pit. Hello long weekend!

We’re #1

Wednesday was the ladies member guest tourney at Twin Creeks. It was extremely windy, but without the wind it would have been too hot and too buggy. 

Jaima and I were a team and Mom and Bev played together. We had a great time and everyone came away a winner! Mom and Bev were the busiest golfers (and won $30) and Jaima and I took 1st place with a 35! We had an eagle and a birdie! Jaima also won longest drive on #7 with a 240 shot - Wow! 

Pender Passings

Of all the trips to Pender, this trip has been the most “busy” with the kids finding things to do amd experience. It might be because they are older or because they sleep half the day away, but regardless, lots of activities going on. 

The older kids went to a movie in Sioux City (Monday night), enjoyed the midway and Perkins’s on Tuesday night, cooled down in the Norfolk water park and ate up at The 5th Quarter on Wednesday night with Pop and ate Subway for lunch and a took a road trip to Macy before getting fireworks with Pop on Thursday.

The boys have also golfed with Nana and their cousin and helped break in the hot tub this week. Not many pictures of their activities, but great memories being made.
