Peavy Christmas Wrap Up

A few pics of the last bits of hosting the Peavy family 2022 Christmas. We finally did cherries and pits and an obvious cherry is that we could all be together and that we have fun together. Truly a wonderful gift.

Meow Wolf

We decided to venture to downtown Denver for an outing to Meow Wolf. As expected, it was unexpected. 

Everyone branches out and had a different experience in the space. Here are a few shots of the experience from my perspective. It was nice to be able to take our visitors to something unique. 

A Year Ago Today

I’m sitting here in our basement around 12:30 pm and thinking what we were doing a year ago right now…… pulling out pictures and memory boxes from the basement here to take with us during the evacuation. What luck and fortune we have to be able to sit in our house and reflect. Certainly a tough day for so many in our community, but here’s rebuilding and continuing to move forward.

Time in Louisville

It is amazing how you can fill your time when you aren’t doing anything. For a couple of days, we filled our time around Louisville and at home. We finished opening gifts on Tuesday morning and Marshall made pancakes for breakfast. We then went for a breezy hike up on the mesa. We basically had the trail to ourselves besides the cattle grazing on the mesa enjoying the 60 degree weather with us. 

Jim and I both had the great idea to go to Sweet Cow after the hike for ice cream. Unfortunately, there was no peppermint ice cream, but I survived. 

Angie came up for Colorado Springs for dinner and we enjoyed take out Indian thanks to Jim and Michelle. We also introduced Angie to Klask. It was very nice to see her and we were all glad she was able to come up. She also brought the boys and their cousin ornaments that were Kristin’s which means a great deal as so many of the ornaments the boys enjoy hanging on the tree every year are from Kristin and Angie. 

On Wednesday, some of us walked around Louisville on “my loop” and we busied ourselves with another puzzle, some grocery shopping, playing frisbee and more games. We ditched the turkey dinner for afternoon wings and then fondue dinner - both were delicious. 

The snow moved in during late afternoon and D-man got stuck in the mountains unfortunately. His brother and cousin took advantage of the snow for a late night sledding outing. It was a lot of snow, but wow, was it beautiful.

Boxing Day

It was nice to wake up and just chill out at the house with everyone here. Lox and bagels. Coffee and tea. Puzzles and new presents. Gift openings and generosity. Hike and beer. Pizzas and wine. Klask and puzzles. Pool and cards. Laughs and fun.
