Super Saturday

A very busy Saturday with two baseball games and a trip to the pool followed by an adult evening in downtown Louisville with the Smileys. 

D-man pitched a really great inning and had two batters hit right to him and another to first base for 3 easy outs. He walked two batters, but such a great job for his first time pitching! 

For dinner, we were able to eat on the patio dining right on Main Street in downtown Louiville. It was a gorgeous night with great friends and tons of laughs - we discovered that Rachel only has a learning permit which brought tons of laughs. 

We wrapped up the evening with some drinks at the new dowtown wine bar - so fun!

Last Day of School

Hard to believe we are saying goodbye to 1st and 4th grade. Wrapped up the year with a neighborhood party. Hello summer! 

Summer (almost) Has Begun

The unofficial start to summer was pretty chilly in Eagle, but so fortunate to be able to spend the long weekend in the mountains. Drinking, eating, biking, neighborhood party, good friends. With one more week of school left, it almost feels like summer.

Memorable Memorial Day

It was bound to happen. Two boys for 7.5 years and eventually you will have an accident. Nothing like a little game of "can I kick the skateboard in the baby pool game" mishap to send your younger brother to the Gypsum Urgent Care. Complete accident and D-man felt horrible when he misfired the skateboard and it landed right in T-man's forehead. And Mom of the year award goes to me for sitting on the porch and having no clue what was going on. Needless to say, we got home a bit later than anticipated, but we all arrived in one piece. 

T-man was an amazing patient. So proud of how courageous he was. Fortunately, it was a clean (albeit deep cut) right in a wrinkle that could be sealed up with glue. No needles needed for anything! 

And huge thanks to Rachel for taking us to the urgent care and capturing the moments. So lucky to have a great friend be there for us!!

Soccer Season Wrap Up

Today was the last day of soccer for T-man. He has really enjoyed soccer this season and his coach said he had the most enthusiasm on the team. Today he took a shot to the face and his nose started gushing blood. He obviously cried, but when we got it to stop bleeding, he got back in the game. We're proud of our little guy!

Summer is Near

Even with the snow at the beginning of this week, it is starting to feel more like summer. The boys were it with friends this week with scooters, bikes, trikes, and dipsticks. The small bike is now becoming a "BMX" bike for D-man had his friends. A trip to the emergency room may still be in our future...... 

Gramma and Granddad Visit

I did a horrible job capturing pictures of Claudia and Bob's recent trip to visit us, but we had a couple days of craziness and a couple relaxing days.

We took in soccer and baseball games for T-man and a baseball game for D-man on Saturday. And fortunately for us, Bob did a bunch of work on the yard and Claudia watched T-man in Monday while he was sick. 

Was a quick, but great trip and we always love having Bob and Claudia here.

Mother's Day Redux

While I haven't been home for several recent Mother's Days, I was nothing but home this snowy version of Mother's Day. 

D-man had set his alarm Sunday morning and when Marshall woke up, he found D-man in the kitchen listening to recipes on his iPad. I was served cheesy eggs with crumbled bacon and coffee with lots of creamer. What a great way to start the day (at 9:00).

T-man was sick and woke up at 11:00. The rest of the day was spent playing board games, reading magazines and books, and time on various electronic devices. 

I received a beautiful, framed old map of Lincoln, Nebraska and Marshall cooked a wonderful brisket for dinner. There aren't many days when we aren't running around so this day with my family was truly a gift.

A community event tonight at the school. It got very windy and chilly which cut down on attendance, but the boys had a nice time with friends. It is a bit sad that these school events are always attended by the same families. Luckily, we have met many of these families and enjoy seeing them. Now we just need to get more of them at these events.

Bike to School Day

A beautiful spring day for Bike to School Day. I somehow was tagged to be the school mascot, Monty the Mustang. T-man loved it, D-man was only slightly horrified.

Our only baseball game in Boulder this year and D-man was hit by a pitch, had a home run, and walked. He also had a great play at first base. All this great play earned him the player of the game and the game ball. We wrapped up with gourmet burgers at where else? Drakes Haus! It certainly was his "Haus" tonight!

Monarch Little League Takes Over Coors Field

The biggest fundraiser for the boys' little league is a Rockies game at Coors Field. The boys get to walk around the field and sit with their teams. It was a hot day and we were all tired from a late night neighborhood BBQ, but we were in the shade and it definitely is starting to feel like summer.
