Well, a big few weeks for us. Celebrating Easter and buying a new minivan. Yes, yes, we have entered the world of minivan owners. As unsexy as they are, I am pretty excited. The kids already love the DVD and I love all the room, the automatic doors, and all the gadgets. Will be great for our family. Easter was nice. We had an Easter egg hunt on Friday at the Rec center and then Easter egg hunt here and hosted the Randell's for Easter Brunch. Was a nice day.

Nana and Pop's visit

Nana and Pop (aka Jean and Jerry/my mom and dad) came to visit for a long weekend. The weather turned out to be pretty nice and we enjoyed some time outside as well as a trip to the zoo. Pop, Marshall, and D-man got haircuts and we also managed to get to the bookstore to buy D-man some books with his birthday gift card. Dad, Marshall and I also enjoyed a little happy hour time while mom watched the kids - thanks mom! Was a great weekend. On Monday, D-man woke up and said "I'm sad". I said, "why?" to which he replied, "because Nana and Pop are gone."

Recent Peavy Activities

Well, two months have flown by! We've celebrated D-man's 4th birthday (3 times), enjoyed a weekend in Leadville relaxing, and also traveled to Idaho to go skiing. D-man is working on his skiing skills, enjoyed sledding, and truly was a great birthday boy. T-man is now starting to talk more and more- recent words include "Drah" (for his brother); "ni-ni" (night-night blanket), and he finally started signing "more". I'm not quite sure where the last two months have gone, but it was a great ride. Looking forward to an eventful spring as well.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

It's hard to believe it is 2008 and the holiday season is coming to a close. We had a wonderful time in Nebraska and it's hard to leave family and come back to the "real world". We spent time with family, going to the "country", playing cards, and just hanging out mostly. Was wonderful to be home with everyone.

It's definitely fall in Denver - 81 degrees for our trip to the pumpkin patch on Saturday and then a winter storm warning on Sunday. A busy weekend, but fun to be out and about and away from the house construction. We did manage to pick out some tile for the floors - now just something for the fireplace - so many decisions!

9 months Old!

T-man is 9 months old! He is skinny (3rd percentile), but 75th percentile in height. Everything else is great with him. He's been sick more after the daycare transition, but we're managing. He's also now officially crawling - watch out! He's still a very happy boy and we're enjoying every day!

First '07 Nebraska Game

We headed down to Colorado Springs to watch the first Nebraska game of the season with my cousin. We had a really nice time and the Huskers won! I'm not so good at Guitar Hero, but her kids definitely showed us how it should be done!

D-man and Uncle Matt

Well, Matt returned from 3 and half months in Belgium. We enjoyed some Chinese take out and good conversation on Monday night. D-man was able to play with Uncle Matt on Tuesday morning.

Summer Update

Well - it is hard to believe it is the middle of July. Where has the summer gone? This weekend was our first weekend that we have been home and will be for some time. We spent a week near Petoskey, Michigan with my family. It was a great time. Time at the lake, relaxing, a trip to Mackinac Island (sans kiddos), good dinners - just a great week. -man had a wonderful time as did the rest of us.



We've also made trips to Vail and Nebraska (to visit my college girlfriend and her two girls) in May earlier this year. Both were great trips catching up with friends and enjoying our new vacation style with kids - lots of staying in and early morning activities.

The rest of the summer has been busy with bike rides in the many bike trails around here, working on the yard, and enjoying all the fun that D-man brings to our lives. He is picking up more and more words and we are enjoying the fun things he is now able to do (making an elephant noise is mom's favorite right now). He's also started to say please and thank you which makes us very proud.

Summer shows no sign of slowing down for us - we are looking forward to many memorable activities coming up.

Just an update

It's hard to believe that I haven't written for over a month. Where does the time goes? D-man has moved up the toddler room and he is enjoying the new room (I think). We've celebrated Mother's Day (downtown for breakfast - a great day), a work trip for me to San Francisco, and a trip to Vail to stay with the friends. D-man had a rough night when we were in Vail, but the rest of the trip was great. We enjoyed a nice hike and just being up in the mountains.

D-man is a busy boy these days. He knows where his head, toes, nose, ears, and belly are and he loves dogs and bubbles. We are enjoying time outside with D-man and hope to get our bike "caddy" put together and get on some family bike rides.

Blizzard of '05

Well, a snow day in April! A foot of snow on the ground. A great day in with Marshall and D-man - cooking - a casserole, banana bread, chili, homemade bread, and ham and scalloped potatoes. D-man played in his fort, enjoyed playing with his balls and took a great nap. A fun day hanging at home.

Gramma and Grandpa Peavy visit

Bob and Claudia came for a 5 day visit. The weather was great and we had a wonderful time. Marshall took the day off on Friday and enjoyed time with D-man and his parents. We went to the Children's Museum on Saturday and had a little picnic. D-man slept a bunch on Sunday and we were able to do a bunch of yard work and clean up outside. Bob and Claudia were a great help - making dinner, doing yard work, laundry, staining the bench, and most importantly, spend time with D-man!! It was great to have them here and I think they had a great time with D-man.

Easter in Nebraska

Marshall, D-man and I flew back to Nebraska for Easter and D-man and AKG's baptism. We also celebrated Jai's 30th birthday - definitely a late night for Marshall and me. We enjoyed just spending time with family and being together. D-man woke up for the babysitter, but Pop came home and was able to put him down. Quite the feat! I did catch pink eye and had to go to the doctor, but other than that, a great trip.

Spring Break with Nana and Pop

Mom and Dad made a trip to Denver (it ended up being a long drive after forgetting glasses, a major wreck on the interstate, and very windy conditions). But they arrived safely on Thursday night and stayed until Sunday morning. I took the day off and we just enjoyed spending some time together, doing a bit of shopping, and taking D-man to the park. The weather was beautiful so we spent quite a bit of time on the front porch which was nice. A very nice visit.

Date Night

Saturday night was date night for Marshall and me. We went to Bistro Vendome for a romantic dinner. Our friends gave me a gift certificate for my birthday with free babysitting. So, we finally cashed in on the night. We went to their house for drinks before hand around 5:30. D-man had dinner and we put him down before we left. He was not too happy when we left, but our friends called to let us know that he quieted down about 5 minutes after we left (thank goodness - we were then able to enjoy our evening!). After dinner, we went for a drink at Palominos. It was a great night. Of course, Sunday morning was a bit tough on all of us. Luckily, D-man took a 2.5 hour nap and we all slept during that time. Was great!
