Waterski Weekend

 Our Oxford adventures started with the Waterski team festivities. After checking into our AirBnB and getting ready, we headed to the bar rental at Top Deck (new bar for me) and then headed over to the Shiver Center for the banquet and auction. We enjoyed a meal, some presentations and the auction. They highlighted the seniors and Drake won the award for sketchiest jumper as well as being nominated for the all star tournament in May.  We bid on a few things and won our bid for tickets to a Chicago Cubs game this summer. 

We then headed to Left Field Tavern with the team (another new bar for me). We had a nice time catching up with old and existing teammates as well as parents.  It was wonderful to celebrate a team and club that has been such a pivotal experience in Drake's Miami experience. On Sunday, we watched Drake's broom ball game, took in a baseball game and enjoyed a casual meal with Drake at on condo. A nice way to kick off our week Oxford.

Footy in Vegas

We enjoyed year number three in Las Vegas for the Australian National Rugby invasion. With our new found flexibility, we were able to arrive Wednesday night and work from the condo on Thursday. We had a a few new experiences this year - the Neon Museum, time on the Frontier Experience, seeing the Fontainbleu casino and a delicious Mexican taco shop. We also did some "standard things" - hung by the pool, walked the strip, played pai gow played video poker (me)/real poker (Marshall) and watched footy at Allegiant Stadium. The weather was warm, the Knights won (Alana's team) and we more or less broke even on our bets. A another fun trip to Sin City.

Cruise Room Crew

During our silver party, we learned that none of our friends had been to The Cruise Room (the cocktail bar at the Oxford Hotel where we ended up after our wedding 25 years ago). A small crew traveled down to Denver with us to have a celebratory cocktail on Feb 24th at the Cruise Room. 

The bar has been open since 1933 and still is one of the cooler bars in Denver. The men enjoyed checking out the restrooms (huge urinals) and we took the crew up to the ballroom where we had our reception. What a wonderful trip down memory lane and celebrating our special day. Dancing. 

Silver Celebration

What a wonderful evening celebrating 25 years of marriage with our friends at our home. Cocktails. Nibbles. Dessert. Wedding trivia. A photo wall where folks actually took photos. A few wedding pictures. My “ribbon bouquet” from our rehearsal dinner. A house full of love and laughter. Matthew wore Bob’s tux; another friend wore the suit and tie from his wedding; someone wore the earrings from their wedding day. The wedding trivia was just enough to learn about each other and for folks to learn a bit more about us (every couple there was married in a different month; no one was married in the same city and every couple enjoyed the beach on their honeymoon). Here’s to 25+ more years of adventure, laughter, love and memories.
