Steamboat Springs

 A great time exploring a mountain we haven't skied in 10ish years. We channeled our inner Drake on Saturday and didn't ride the same lift twice which meant we were all over the mountain. We enjoyed apres ski on Saturday after a great day on the slopes. We did run into the boys so we did get a picture of them all. We grilled burgers on Saturday night and finally got in the hot tub after three attempts. 

Sunday was even less crowded than Saturday - we didn't wait in a line longer than 5 minutes all weekend - mostly no lines. Marshall and I got in 8 lifts in a little over 2 hours. Traffic was going to be stop and go through the tunnel so we took the long way around through Fort Collins - a new (and beautiful drive) for us. Glad we got away for a couple of days. 

Slopeside (ish)

 I'm very happy we decided to book a place in Steamboat for a long weekend at the end of spring break. We found a cozy place where we can walk to the lifts and I have been able to explore the village a bit (which I love). 

Tanner was able to bring a couple of friends and they left Thursday morning to make a day of it (they didn't ski), but got lunch in Silverthorne and bumped around Steamboat before checking in around 4:00. The boys got pizza for dinner and checked out the hot tub in the evening. 

Marshall and I got off later than planned as we spent a bit with Marshall's high school friend, his wife and their daughter who is considering CU. It was lovely to chat with them. 

We left around 5:00 and had no traffic or weather on the 3 hour 15 minute drive. We popped into the condo and then headed to a Mexican place for dinner and a drink. 

The boys were up early for skiing and I had to move a car as we only have one spot with the condo. I walked around the village and got a coffee and then headed out on the slopes. Marshall was able to join for a couple runs on his lunch break and I enjoyed a nice lunch on the Rendevous deck. My legs were tired after a day of skiing as the runs were pretty carved up due to the 5 inches of new snow. 

We had a casual night in with tacos, a movie, poker and basketball. A successful couple of days! 

Staycation Spring Break

 A low key spring break given we are a family of three this year. Tanner had longed "complained" that his friends hang out and he is off traveling so we stayed around this year. Marshall and I played cards with friends Saturday night, watched NRL on Sunday morning with the Wrights and played (and won!) trivia on Monday night. We also got happy hour on Wednesday evening. 

Tanner skied at Eldora with a friend on Tuesday, did some night time sledding, had friends over to play poker and has been enjoying sleeping in. 

I also snuck in coffee with a new coworker that lives in Louisville as well as girlfriends. I'd say we are doing a pretty good job at making the most of our time at home. 

Upper Badlands

 A family outing to play some disc golf on Saturday afternoon. It was fun to all be out together - a good way to kick off spring break. 

The Madness

 WSU wins. CU gets to the round of 32 in a crazy game. Nebraska men were never really in it. Nebraska women tried to give it away at the end. But, all of these teams made it (we have not been able to say that for some time). 

And it has been fun watching the teams this year. Here's to more of the madness! 

Friends even sported red for a Nebraska inspired happy hour on Friday night, but it didn't help unfortunately. 

What a Difference

....... a week can make. Almost two feet of snow a week ago and an ultimate game a week later. Spring is here. 

Booster Bash - Red Carpet Style

Another successful booster bash with a fun group of people again this year. We all snagged fun dresses from Dillard's for the event and we ordered gold accessories for Marshall as well. 

We danced the night away after the auction and enjoyed the after party at the Wilbanks. It was fun to get dressed up for the evening and support the school activities as well. 

Snowmageddon

 The forecasts were actually correct this time - a foot plus of snow since last night and it is still showing! We lost a big branch on a tree in the backyard and somehow it missed the house and the fence! Two days off of school for Tanner - yippee! The picture la are not in order, but you can see the before and after - what a difference a day makes! 

Alpha Kappa Psi

On Sunday, Drake received a bid to the Miami chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi, a business fraternity on campus. It's a pretty rigorous process - interviews, case studies, etc. so we were very proud of him for putting himself out there and earning a bid. From their website, it looks like a great organization with some philanthropy, learning and social aspects all included. Congrats Drake! 

Weekend Disc Golf

 A gorgeous weekend in Colorado meant a disc golf outing for Tanner and Marshall. Apparently, there was a professional disc golf player on the course when they were playing - wow!
