Elich Gardens Reward

Every summer, we have participated in the Denver Public Library's Summer of Reading program. And like most years, one of the rewards is a free ticket to Elich Gardens. D-man had a request that we go while the water park was still open. And so, here we are on Labor Day weekend (the last weekend for the water park). With all the traveling and moving, this weekend was the only one that worked.

We met our old neighbors and got here right when the park opened. While crowded, hitting the rides early was a wise choice. T-man enjoyed the kiddie rides and D-man loved the various roller coasters.

The water park was....well.... Let's just say that in the future, I will work hard to make sure we are booked every weekend of the summer. It was EXTREMELY crowded and while amusement park have interesting crowds in general, getting with them in a big bathtub is another story.....

Luckily, the boys stuck to attractions that had the least amount of waiting (mostly). Marshall was a good sport and did the slides and the line waiting.

At least the boys had free tickets and we had discounted tickets. And since we are looking for reasons to get out of the apartment, it has been a fun day riding the rides and watching the boy being kids. And I got my ferris wheel and carousel rides. Life really is good.
