When thinking back on what one “normally” ensures during high school, it is not at the level of what these kids have been through. We are grateful that even with everything that happened, there was “normalcy” to their senior year - football games, homecoming, prom, pep assemblies, etc. And I hope that all of the resiliency these kids have shown, takes them wherever their hopes and dream dare to go.
And it should be said that it was a celebration to have all living grandparents and Aunt Michelle able to attend the ceremony, but extremely difficult to have Marshall not in attendance to watch D-man cross the stage. I am however grateful for the bound D-man and Marshall have forged and know that the young man D-man has become is in no small part to this special relationship.
