We diddled around the hotel after our 10:00 checkout because we couldn’t board the boat until 12:00. Little did we know, that we should have ordered breakfast when we woke up at 8:30 given the short staffing at the hotel. However, we passed the time taking in the soap opera happening between two patrons, had coffee, got doughnuts and waited for our food.
When we finally left the hotel, we got to the port and realized that we left a bag at the hotel. Fortunately, we had the cab driver’s card and he went and retrieved our suit case (whew).
We boarded the boat and had a champagne toast and got the boat rules and safety lessons. The boys really enjoyed the rough waters and used the front of the boat as a trampoline (not what they were supposed ri do, but fun while it lasted).
I made the mistake of leaving the front of the boat after getting soaked ti get my suit on (but mistake). I ended up throwing up 2 times and the ride was rough.
But, I recovered (mostly) when we arrived at Christmas Cove Off of Great St. James Island. We enjoyed just being there - snorkeling, time on the lily pad, jumping off the boat, turning on the underwater lights to see the fish at night, snorkeling with dive lights, etc. we enjoyed a steak dinner on our first night on the boat. Loved seeing the wonder on the boys’ faces with all these new experiences.
