Recently, our 4 year old came home from school with a red book. He was so proud and immediately told us that he "passed his sound book!" This is a big deal at his Montessori school (we remember when our older son had the same success). Because of this success, T-man got to pick a place to celebrate for dinner and he chose his favorite place - Noodles!
He ordered the standard fare - small mac & cheese and chocolate milk. He also got to choose a rice krispie treat for his special dessert. We had a nice dinner celebrating his achievement. When D-man went to the restroom, Marshall and I talked with T-man and told him how proud we are and emphasized that this was HIS special night. You could see that it really was getting through to him - he was so proud of his accomplishment as well and very receptive to the praise. Small victories on life's journey. Here's to many more celebrations of family success in the future.
